Nicole has been with the Fishery Solutions Center since 2014, and works at the intersection of human society and marine fishery resources - diagnosing challenges, developing management solutions, and empowering fishermen to create sustainable systems. She is passionate about using design thinking, education, and facilitation to empower people to address complex, systemic challenges.
In her current role, Nicole often applies Human-Centered Design methods and mindsets to support Oceans’ Program staff and partners in developing capacity building resources and design solutions to support fisheries reform. She also coordinates technical support activities between the Fishery Solutions Center and regional teams, including facilitating learning and sharing of experiences to advance the Oceans Program’s global strategy. Nicole currently serves as the liaison for several of the Oceans’ program key Asia-Pacific geographies, including Japan, the Philippines, Myanmar, and the Pacific Islands.
Nicole holds a B.S. and M.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University, with a concentration in coastal and marine sustainability science.
