Sarah manages the Fishery Solutions Center's efforts to deliver training and capacity building on fishing rights and other sustainable fishery management tools. Through in-person and online trainings, Sarah builds appropriate capacity for different partners and fishery stakeholders implementing fishing rights programs. She specializes in TURF design and wrote the first manual for guiding stakeholders to design and manage TURFs. Her research, knowledge and trainings are supporting implementation of TURFs and TURF-reserves at scale in the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil and Belize.

Sarah joined EDF in 2011 with a breadth of knowledge in marine science and experience working on complex resource management challenges. Sarah holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management with a Coastal Marine Resources Management specialization from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a B.S. in Aquatic Biology from UCSB. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys visiting the coast, scuba diving and spending quality time with her husband and son.
