Alexis manages the FSC’s collaborations with regional teams to ensure cross-regional learning and directly supports our engagements in Latin America. Her work is largely focused on understanding the dynamics of fisheries systems in order to design long-lasting solutions, with a focus on small-scale fisheries governance and implementation. Alexis also leads the development and application of innovative tools and resources to guide sustainable fisheries reform around the world, through our Sustainable Fisheries Toolkit.
Alexis joined EDF in 2013, where she began as project manager for our small-scale fisheries initiative in SE-Asia and Latin America. Before coming to EDF, Alexis was a Knauss Fellow with the NMFS Office of International Affairs. She holds an MAS in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and a B.S. in Biology and Philosophy from Boston College.
